ICM shows incredible craftsmanship with artistic relief bronze cathedral doors
On Sunday, May 31, 2009 at official ceremony the new cast bronze entry doors for the Armenian Cathedral St. Vartan were consecrated by Archbishop Khajag Barsamian, Primate of the Diocese of the Armenian Church of America (Eastern). The unveiling ceremony was attended by New York City Mayor Mr. Michael Bloomberg.
The bronze doors depict in three-dimensional relief the baptism of Armenia‘s King Drtad III by St. Gregory the Illuminator. That development marked Armenia‘s conversion to Christianity, making it the first nation in the world to be converted. The art committee comprised the graphics designer Dianna Knaudh then the design was made in scaled 2 feet by 4 feet model sculpted by Rafael Petrossyan. The whole door is 16 feet high by 8 feet wide, the door leafs are 12 feet high by 4 feet wide. The whole door weights massive 4,000 lbs.

International Creative Metal, Inc. Of Woodside, NY Wins Award in International Metalcraft Competition
ICM just won the most prestigious award in the Ornamental Metal Industry for outstanding craftsmanship in an international competition sponsored by the National Ornamental & Miscellaneous Metals Association (NOMMA). The event was open to over 1,000 member firms throughout the U.S. and in 13 foreign countries.
International Creative Metal Inc received the Gold Medal for its Gates/Doors.
The presentation was made at a special banquet in Destin, GA, March 3, during NOMMA‘s annual convention. The Ernest Wiemann Top Job Awards Competition is an annual contest that recognizes outstanding work in the ornamental and miscellaneous metals industry
To win an award, entrants must submit photos and a description of their work. This material is the publicly displayed in a gallery where NOMMA member firms are given the opportunity to vote. Winning a Top Job award has special meaning, since it represents a voice of approval from industry peers.
